About the lesson

My approach is rooted in my 6 years of teaching experience and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I am engaging, fun, and firmly grounded in the Science of Reading.

Each lesson is based in a structured literacy approach that is evidence-based and cater to diverse learning styles. Techniques used might include:

-Using systematic and explicit instruction in phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.
-Multisensory Learning: Incorporating activities that engage multiple senses to reinforce learning, such as using body movements materials or interactive games.
-Differentiated Instruction: Tailored approach to meet the individual needs of each child, identifying strengths and areas for growth.
-Positive Reinforcement: Encouraging and praising effort and progress to build confidence and motivation.

A typical lesson would follow this structure:

Introduction (5 minutes): Engage the child with a brief overview of what they will learn and why it's important.

Skill Practice (15-20 minutes): Focus on a specific skill (e.g., phonics, decoding, comprehension strategies). Use activities like word games, reading passages, or interactive exercises.

Application (10-15 minutes): Apply the skill learned to real-world contexts through reading a story, discussing its meaning, or practicing writing.

Review and Feedback (5-10 minutes): Recap the lesson, provide feedback on progress, and set goals for the next session.

Closure (5 minutes): Reinforce key concepts and provide positive reinforcement.
