Central to my teaching methodology is an initial intake meeting, during which I assess the student's current level of understanding and collaborate with them to craft a tailored strategy that will propel their comprehension forward in the given subject area. Succinctly, I meet the student where they are and develop a plan to move them forward at a pace that is comfortable for them.
TYPICAL LESSON PLAN:
Outline the lesson's focus and objectives, ensuring clarity from the outset.
Gather the necessary materials, including textbooks, notes, and supplementary resources, to facilitate the achievement of the lesson's goals effectively.
Structure the activities into organized blocks, allowing for a seamless flow of learning:
Block 1 (25 minutes): Work session, engaging students in hands-on practice and application.
Break (2 minutes): A brief respite to recharge and refocus.
Block 2 (25 minutes):
Review of material from Block 1, reinforcing key concepts, and introducing a new work session to build upon the foundations laid. d. Review of Blocks 1 and 2 (8 minutes): A comprehensive recap of the lesson's content, addressing any remaining queries, and solidifying the understanding.
Currently, I serve as a lecturer in the Faculties of Science and Medicine at Gulu University, imparting knowledge to aspiring scholars. My academic journey has been enriched by past lecturing experiences at prestigious medical universities, including the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the esteemed Karolinska Institute Medical Nobel University in Stockholm, Sweden.
With a decade of teaching experience in the fields of mathematics and science (grades 7-9), spanning both the United States and Sweden, I have honed my skills in nurturing young minds. Additionally, I currently tutor students in mathematics in West Los Angeles, catering to grades 6-11, and fostering a love for the subject through personalized guidance.
