About Frankie
I started teaching in my mid-twenties after a few years of post-university uncertainty. It wasn't a career I had ever considered for myself but after teaching my first ever lesson I knew it was the right thing for me - I absolutely loved it! I spent a year working and teaching in Spain and then came back to the UK and continued working in language schools in both Cambridge and London. I gained my DELTA qualification in 2020 and my Masters in Applied Linguistics in 2023. I have worked in many different organisations, teaching General English, IELTS, Cambridge Exams and Business English. More recently, I have been working in universities in the UK teaching English for Academic Purposes and Study Skills. This has allowed me to broaden my experience and work with native English speakers as well as international learners. It has also given me the skills to support university students with their academic work which I have found incredibly rewarding.

I have been teaching English as a Foreign language since 2017 and am DELTA qualified. More recently, I have been working in UK universities teaching English for Academic Purposes and Study Skills. This means I can support both students who wish to improve their English and students who need support with their university studies. On the English language side, I have experience teaching students from beginner to proficiency level and training students for IELTS or Cambridge Exams. On the academic skills side, I am able to support with skills like essay writing, critical thinking, research and referencing. I can also offer proofreading and editing. My lessons are generally one hour long and I will ensure that they are engaging, communicative and personalised. I usually work with students aged 16 or older but do have experience teaching younger learners as well.
