As an experienced tutor and current college student, I am passionate about helping students succeed academically. My approach as a tutor is student-centered, focusing on understanding each student's unique learning style and adapting my teaching methods accordingly. First I will briefly go over previous lessens to reinforce learning and any clear any doubts and questions. Then, present the new topic, using examples that relate to the student’s interests or experiences. For a few questions, I will work through problems together, offering hints and explanations to guide the student’s understanding. Then, I will allow the student to attempt similar problems on their own, providing support as needed. To wrap it up, I will summarize the main points and assign homework. What sets me apart is my personalized approach and experience working with diverse student groups. My experience teaching English to Ukrainian students has given me a deep understanding of how to navigate language barriers and cultural differences in education. Additionally, my background in tutoring both Math and English allows me to integrate cross-disciplinary techniques, helping students see connections between subjects. My lessons are for elementary and middle schoolers, specifically those who need help in Math and English.
