About Wei Lee

As a coding tutor, my focus is on inspiring confidence and equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in the real world of programming. My teaching philosophy revolves around practical learning and working smarter, not harder. I firmly believe in the power of hands-on projects over traditional tests. Projects allow students to see their ideas come to life, develop problem-solving skills, and truly understand coding concepts in action.

I encourage my students to take advantage of advanced tools and technologies to enhance their work. In my view, using these AI tools isn’t cheating—it’s smart and reflective of how the industry operates. Coding is about innovation and efficiency, and I aim to foster these qualities in my students.

Having experienced how computer science is traditionally taught in universities, I’ve realized there are better, more efficient ways to teach programming. My approach emphasizes simplicity, relevance, and adaptability. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, whether that means building websites, creating apps, or exploring data analysis.

I pride myself on professionalism, patience, and a commitment to making coding accessible and enjoyable. Whether you’re a young learner exploring programming for the first time or an adult looking to improve your skills, I’m here to guide you on a learning journey that’s efficient, engaging, and built around real-world applications.

About the lesson

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I focus on a hands-on, project-based learning approach that helps students apply coding concepts in real-world scenarios. Each lesson is tailored to the student's learning pace, ensuring they fully grasp the concepts before moving forward. I use interactive exercises, visual aids, and small projects to make learning coding both fun and practical. For children, I incorporate gamified elements to maintain engagement and foster creativity.

Typical Lesson Length:
A standard lesson lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, providing ample time to cover concepts, practice coding, and address questions without overwhelming the student.

Qualifications and Experience:
I have professional experience as a coding tutor at Champ Code Academy, where I designed and delivered engaging lessons in Python, JavaScript, and Web Design for children. Furthermore, I am a final-year Computer Science student specializing in Artificial Intelligence and I've been involved in various development projects. My technical expertise includes machine learning, AI integrations and web development, all of which inform my teaching style.
