About Ashley

Hi! My name is Ashley, and I’m a passionate elementary school teacher and McGill University alumna with over 6, going on 7 years of teaching experience. I have taught a wide range of subjects including: English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography (Social Studies), and Culture and Citizenship in Quebec (CCQ). My teaching experience includes Preschool, Grades 1 and 2, and Grades 5 and 6; as well as Resource/Literacy support, where I work one-on-one and in small groups to help students strengthen their skills and confidence. I love creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. Whether your child needs extra support, wants to strengthen their skills, or simply build confidence, I’m here to help!

About the lesson

As an experienced elementary school teacher, I believe every student learns differently. I tailor my lessons to each student's needs, strengths, and learning style, using clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities, and targeted exercises to build both understanding and confidence. Lessons typically begin with a quick review, followed by focused instruction and practice, and end with a review of the skills covered. I offer personalized English and Mathematics tutoring for Grades 1–6, including reading, writing, literacy, grammar, comprehension, foundational math, problem-solving, and exam preparation. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
