Hi, hola, ¿qué tál? My name is Martha, and I am excited to begin (or continue) a life-long journey learning Spanish with you :)

A little bit about me: I am a recent college graduate with extensive experience living abroad in Spain and working with a Spanish-speaking non-profit. I have been learning Spanish for 9 years now (!) and have been tutoring Spanish privately and professionally to students of all ages since high school.

I am super passionate about language learning as a doorway to not only professional opportunities and academic success, but also to becoming a more compassionate citizen of the world.

About the lesson

A typical session is customized to your needs, whether it be hardcore grammar practice, conversations and role-play situations, or practical vocabulary specialized for your life/work/school environments. I believe in active learning, immersion, and connecting with students on topics that matter to them. I communicate in Spanish as a learned language, so I am intimately familiar with the obstacles non-native speakers face when learning Spanish.

Here's an example lesson with me, open to customization. We will start each lesson off with a check-in and quick review of previous topics. We'll then move on to an introduction of new vocab/grammar concepts, and finish off with conversational practice. Depending on a student's level (around A2), the whole lesson will be conducted in an accessible Spanish. All resources (textbooks, worksheets, etc.) are free and provided by me!

My lessons are for all learners working from a beginner to an upper intermediate level (A1 - B2).
