About Diya
Hello! I'm Diya and and I am an offer holder at UCL medical school for this September.
At GCSE I achieved nine 9's ( including in Biology and Chemistry) and one 8. I am predicted A*, A*, A* for biology, chemistry and geography A level.
I am patient, enthusiastic and able to adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles. I also have experience working with children as I have a job as an assistant tennis coach for children aged 7-16.
I have successfully tutored many students from top schools such as UCS and NLCS. I have also support sessions for GCSE students who needed extra help.

I hope to provide interesting and engaging lessons for students that focus on understanding concepts rather than just route-learning answers. I believe there are 3 main aspects to learning:
1. Understanding the content- ensuring the topic or concept is well understood and filling any gaps in one's knowledge. I understand that different people have different methods of learning and so I am more than happy to adapt to the students preferred method, for example, using more diagrams and images for visual learners.
2. Practice questions- this is vital for obtaining top marks as it is a form of recall and is important to understand the vocabulary needed to gain marks. Both chemistry and biology and application based ( particularly at A-level) so exam questions are particularly important for these subjects.
3. Reflection and repetition- I start each lesson by asking the student to explain a concept or key word we learnt in the last lesson to ensure they understood what was previously taught and to fill gaps in their knowledge. I also leave time for questions and queries at the end of each lesson
