About Isabella
I have worked previously with the Gals Guide to the Galaxy bookstore and library, and also have lots of experience working at the HEPL library helping clients find good book matches and teaching younger children to read. I have run virtual book clubs with younger children during COVID, as well as through a preschool and elementary school near my home, and taught many children everything from diction and how to use a dictionary properly, to how to write in cursive and how to personalize a signature themselves. I recently had the opportunity to publish some of my own works through a bookstore I volunteered often at, and since have released up to 3 anthology books under this bookstore, all before I graduated high school-- the first of which came out before I started my freshman year. I love reading (my favorite book is Beautiful Boy), and I love writing, especially poetry and song lyrics for my band, where I play guitar and sing.

Techniques include re-reading, analysis of pages and word choice made by the author, practice with summarizing pages/chapters/books, and enunciating new or challenging words and using resources to discover new meanings and implications.
What sets me apart the most is my extensive career as an English learner. I have experience with a wide variety of learners, and have spent time volunteering at book stores and libraries to further my knowledge in helping others, as well as tutoring peers and hosting book clubs for younger children. My vast learning in complex English classes myself have also been a benefit for my tutoring skills.
