About Mia
I have almost completed my Bachelor degree in Education, majoring in English and HASS. Since 2015 I have completed five practical placements at various high schools in the Perth metro area, giving me hands-on experience with teaching and working with young people. I have a very high GPA and have received excellent feedback from my mentor teachers.

My teaching method is student-centred. I first aim to understand a student's preferred learning style, and cater to that. I enjoy being creative with my lesson plans, and ensuring a wide range of teaching strategies are included.
I give each lesson a clear objective, and we work towards that objective until we have mastered it.
Chunking of information and scaffolding of learning is crucial. I model everything before students must try it. Above all, lessons need to be meaningful to the student with a strong sense of usefulness and purpose for the real world.
