About Briana

As a passionate advocate for the power of literature and reading, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to my tutoring sessions. With a Ph.D. in English and years of teaching literature and writing at various levels, I understand the importance of strong literacy skills at every age.

I am so inspired by seeing students progress and gain confidence in their literacy and writing abilities. Having lived in South America, I also have a strong background in helping bilingual students improve their reading and writing fluency.

On a personal note, I love traveling, reading, playing tennis, and spending time with family, including my two children. These personal interests enrich my life and allow me to connect with students on various levels, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel safe to take chances, explore their abilities, and grow their skills through positive, affirming interaction.
