About Kathryn
I am a published writer and my work has been featured in multiple academic journals. After finishing my history degree I spent five years working in public libraries crafting marketing materials. I got an MFA in Filmmaking, where I applied my writing practice to film, teaching screenwriting at the college level for a year. Now I am a documentary researcher, where my work often means I have to interpret and make arguments for the sources we use!
I bring a unique perspective as someone who toes the line between the academic and art worlds, and I think that a multidisciplinary approach is what strengthens my own writing!

I believe in meeting students where they are. I will assess your writing level in order to formulate a plan to reach your goals. We will discuss basic structure first and review your grammar, and then move onto a workshop approach. I focus on concise, engaging writing. I also focus on educating my students on how skills become transferrable. Persuasive writing is a necessity in many fields, and I believe I can show you the way to make it work for you. I am happy to help with college entry essays, history papers, and literature essays.
A typical lesson consists of a review of what you've done before, and then diving into the material of whatever you're working on. As I said, it's student based and I'm looking to meet you where you are to get the best result we can.
