About Chloe

I am a college student based in Manchester that specialises in English- whether it's English Literature or English Language. I am currently still studying myself to achieve the highest A-Level English and Business qualifications that I possibly can. I wish to share my expertise with other students, which would then allow them to flourish through their GCSE's, like I did!

About the lesson

I have many different teaching types, so that I can meet the needs of the individual in question. One teaching method would be me talking whilst the student takes down key notes about what i'm saying, (I found this useful when I was under-going my GCSE's) however if the student is more of a listening learner then i'd be happy to allow the student to record me when talking, if that would be a suitable way of learning. Another method of teaching that I use would be me demonstrating the information I wished for the student to take in and then allowing them to interact with what I'm saying which would then allow the students to complete set activities upon what I spoke about. another teaching method would include me helping the student to develop their critical thinking skills as this is very important when it comes to English especially at GCSE level, you need to expand and analyse every last detail if you wish to get on the top band in order to achieve top marks. I would also help the students build upon their self-learning whether it's assisting the student with new self-learning ways to develop their knowledge such as flash-cards or practice exam questions. another form of teaching would be me including a group of students in on the discussion instead of one-to-one seperate discussions, this would help the student build upon their group skills and would allow them to be able to work on their group work. and the last teaching approach would be a more blended style which would include my personality and interests combined with the students needs, as I absolutely love English and i'm pretty sure your child would love it too. All it takes is a little bit of patience and co-operation, as everyone started off in the same position without any knowledge, everyone just needs someone who will help them build upon their skills.
