About Angelina Faith
Hello future student,
I am Angelina, and I am passionate about ensuring the success of the individuals I am fortunate to work with.
It is frustrating to see students' progress become stagnant due to insufficient resources, or to have their potential limited by being directly told that they would never achieve high grades. These cases have personally inspired me to confront the issue, by working with students to exceed their expectations.
Using what I learned about human behaviour from through the lenses of psychology, economics, and philosophy at A level, besides English, would enable me to adapt my tutoring to the learning styles of each individual. Further supporting this, was my involvement in teamworking and communication opportunities through law society, mock trials, and debating competitions, which also helped me to advocate for students, as well as other individuals outside of academic spaces, concerning work or legalities to challenge unethical practices. This other purpose would remind me of the practical value of English literature, and why knowing how to write well-constructed essays is a subject that deserves to be taught well.
Outside of the direct tutoring experience described in the 'AD' section, I am able to draw from a wealth of experiences that contribute to some of the skills I hope to transfer to my students. For example, training in martial arts taught me the discipline and resilience to look forward to new challenges rather than fear them. And after a selective application process I worked at Costco as the youngest hire in my field, where I learned to surpass expectations and use stressful environments to my advantage. Similarly, I had to adapt to balancing piano exams up to grade 7 alongside my GCSEs and A levels.
For many students it is not only the challenge of new academic content that may impact the final grade, but also handling the stress of the examination process itself.
All the aforementioned experiences contribute to my aim as a tutor, to help students reach their full potential, by providing an all-encompassing and engaging approach to learning.
Overall, I look forward to working with you to achieve the successes that you are already capable of.

Teaching methodology:
From the experiences of others and my own, both in teaching and learning, I firmly believe in the value of recognising students as individuals first. This includes getting to know them and what they already learn in school to best support the areas they wish to expand on. I find that combining elements of the Reggio Emilia approach with Beck's cognitive ABC model has impacted my students the most in their ability to fully realise their potential
Typical length:
A typical lesson covers one hour, however there are no strict rules regarding this. I also provide shorter sessions, depending on whichever choice is most suitable for each student's timetable and individual preference
Tutor experience:
- Assisted a class at Haseltine Primary School for their SATS
- Prepared a student for their 11+ Exam; they were successful in
receiving offers from Bexley and Townley Grammar school
- Supported a group of students with additional needs in
preparation for their GCSEs at Harris Academy Greenwich
- Volunteered with Success4All to provide one-on-one tutoring
- Cooperated with peers of varying essay-based subjects at A
level and University to help them transition from Ds to As
- Helped my sister through each different stage of education
on anything concerning writing, essays and exam timing
