About Devon
I've been giving lessons as a certified writing tutor for over five years. Over those years, I've tutored countless students, many of whom enthusiastically return. I am proud to say that students tell me they feel empowered and inspired by our sessions together, and the majority see at least one letter-grade improvement within the first several weeks.

I have a BA in English, with a minor in technical and professional writing, and an MA in Communication and Rhetorical studies. I've been tutoring writing and comprehension across disciplines for over five years, from middle school students to PhD candidates from all walks of life.
My teaching style is student-centered in that I encourage and help my students set their own goals for a session. and we then work together to achieve them. Whether it's understanding a homework assignment, brainstorming writing topics/ approaches, refining the grammar and mechanics of an almost-final-draft, or anything in-between, we work together as a team until my student feels more confident in their abilities.
