About Miriam

Hiya! My name is Miriam, and I have an English degree from Durham university, as well as a Masters Degree in Acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. I studied English Literature and Theatre Studies up to A Level, so have extensive experience studying both subjects academically at school, as well as university. I have several years experience in 1:1 online tutoring, and am keen to craft my lessons to help my students achieve their full potential.

I am always on time, organised and prepared for all of my lessons, and I would be so excited to meet you!

I am one of three sisters, and can usually be found talking to new people, eating ice cream or adventuring around London. I have a diploma in musical theatre, and some of my all-time favourite musicals include Les Mis, Come From Away and Kinky Boots. I am most at home with my friends and my family, and I love travelling, trying new foods, and rollercoasters. One of my greatest dreams is to swim with whales. I also attempted to get into running during lockdown with the Couch to 5K, and still occasionally go for a 'light jog' around London - but the less said on that the better.

About the lesson

I started online tutoring during lockdown, so have several years experience tutoring English and Drama 1:1 online. My approach to lessons is always to cater specifically to my student with regards to what they would like to work on. I hope to create a comfortable, fun atmosphere in which my students can explore, learn and experiment (and also know that it is ok to get things wrong)!
My lessons are always carefully planned, and discussion-based; English and Drama both rely on imagination, interpretation and structure, which are qualities I hope to encourage in my lessons.
I am happy to set homework or not depending on the student and our action plan for the sessions.
My students can ask me any questions at all about the subjects - I am here to help!
