About Sarrah
My love for literature stems from an interest in stories, creative writing, and the innumerable uses of language in all walks of life. I pursued my passion through my Bachelor’s at Leeds, during which I gained three years of experience in academic and critical writing, forming theses and arguments, and working with interdisciplinary research. I also have nine years of experience in creative writing, including short stories, novellas, and poetry. I am thus familiar with a wide range of genres and forms of literature, and use my expertise and experience to deliver high-quality lessons. I am enthusiastic and passionate about the work I do, and firmly believe that the ideas and perspective of each individual is key to succeeding in literary studies. As such, I always make the effort to incorporate my students’ viewpoints into my lessons, because I know the joy and hard work that goes into each idea and piece of writing.

Having recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA in English Literature, I know first-hand that literary analysis and working with the English language can feel daunting. As such, my teaching style focuses on strengthening and developing base skills in critical reading and writing. My focus is on helping students build independent frames of thought and a unique perspective when working with language and literature.
I offer online lessons tailored to specific genres, literary forms, and various levels of proficiency in English. I am experienced in working with students from primary schools through high-school and college, with a focus on IB and A-level curricula. Each of my lessons lasts for 60-90 minutes, during which I work with students on writing exercises, reading, speaking, grammar, and analysis.
