About Gabriela
Remember that one English teacher you had in High School that changed the way you saw books forever?
I am a English Literature major, Psychology minor, from The University of British Columbia, with a love of all things literature. I love inspiring others to be as passionate about literature as I am, and I truly believe that personalized English lessons can be an exciting part of a child's week, rather than a chore.
I am a cheerful, approachable and casual teacher that aims to inspire through enjoyment rather than punishment. I believe positive associations with reading from a young age can take children a long way.

My focus as a teacher is to ignite passion in children for literature. I believe that there is a story out there for everyone, and reading/writing does not have to be a chore. Teaching children that they can enjoy literature will make their assigned reading easier for all subjects.
My lessons will start by getting to know your child: their interests, their personality, their wants/needs, and their current reading/writing level. From there, we will begin our journey into reading and the joys of getting lost in a story. I am an approachable and casual teacher, and my primary focus is to make your child have a great time learning. I have experience with children from 05-18, of various backgrounds, levels and learning difficulties. I am excited to work with you and your child!
