About Debbie

I’m a 25-year-old book lover who has had the opportunity of working with people from all walks of life. With a background of working with NEET young people (not in education, employment, or training), teaching English as a foreign language, reading with children aged 0-11, and working with the elderly in care. I’ve had many responsibilities with many different roles. But no matter what I do or where I go, literature will always become involved somehow. From book recommendations, to reading together, or listening to me read. Books become a foundation for relationship building and betterment. Finding a good book and being able to comprehend what you are reading is a skill that will always support you. When studying for tests, when communicating with people, living daily life, helping you succeed in everything you do, and best of all FOR FUN!

About the lesson

I am passionate about education and providing young people with the tools they need to spark their natural inquisition to learn. As a literature lover, books are absolutely everything to me! From children’s books to young adult novels, fiction and nonfiction, any form of reading helps a child develop skills and characteristics that set them up for life. Literacy skills are at an all-time low with more and more children not engaging with the magic of reading. Having a background of working with people from all walks of life, I know how to get through to just about anyone. Let’s work together to give children the best possible chance to follow their dreams, they are capable of more than we know!
