About Katherine
Since returning to the U.S. in 2021, I have taught seven students Chinese speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. Levels range from beginner to advanced. I do test prep as well (AP, placement tests, college language requirement testing-out), and culture classes for kids. Language preparation for travel and intercultural communication seminars are other classes I teach, having worked in the Chinese auto industry and other mainland companies for some time.

My name is Katherine Miller Zhang, 小米. I am not a native speaker, but since I moved to China soon after childhood, I am often taken for one. I have ten years of teaching experience, including of Chinese as a Foreign Language. Taking language lessons from someone who can explain grammar concepts from the perspective of having learned them initially from classes too, has distinct advantages. I can tell you as well that Chinese is not half as hard for English speakers to learn as most people fear.
