About Devon
I have a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and French, with a minor in Special Education, and a master’s degree of science in Education.
I spent 11 years living in Europe, where I got my TEFL certificate at ITC, Barcelona, then moved on to teach ESL in France for 10 years.
Now, I’m back in the US, living and teaching in the New York City area. I teach students with moderate to severe special needs in the day, and languages (French, ESL) in the evening.

I believe that languages are best learned through actively practicing and participating in the language experience.
Consider a baby: when learning a language, they start by listening, then begin speaking. After a while, they learn to read and write. My approach to teaching follows this sequence: listen, repeat, produce, write/read.
