About Alexandra
Welcome to my classroom!
I know that sometimes reading and writing for an English class can be boring (believe me, I felt the same way!).
I do believe that in my class, you will gain more insight and perspectives into literature that you may have not seen before, and I promise to deliver activities in the class that while challenging to an extent, will make the class seem more fun and interactive.
I absolutely love movies and books, so whenever I am able to have discussions about backgrounds of literature or student debates, I will heavily encourage them!
Your opinions in this class matter, and I encourage you to speak your mind and thoughts (with respect to others' opinions, of course!).

When I teach, I try to make sure the entire process is collaborative, and caters to the students' interests. I understand that reading and writing essays can be boring and often times challenging (I was that student for the longest time!), but I try to make my lessons fun and engaging. In my teaching, you will have:
- Instruction based on collaborative learning and direct instruction modeled to students.
- A brief lesson plan to include what the students will be doing that day.
- Lessons geared more towards middle grades education, but will have challenging topics found in the high school curriculum.
- I ask my students about things they are interested in so I can cater activities to their interests, rather than them coming to class feeling they are reading or writing something they have no genuine interest in.

Details
My classroom is structured to be online, so there are no transportation fees listed.
I do require a 50% payment if the lesson is canceled, simply for the time and effort put into creating the lesson and supplemental activities.
I offer the first lesson for free simply to get to know the students' interests, so I can deliver instruction catered more to what they enjoy, and relate it to the literature or writing components they are learning.
