About Ashley
I have been told an infinite amount of times how my passion and enthusiasm for the English language both in prose and verse has an enigmatic and contagious effect on others! I have tutored throughout my entire academic career and engaged with students of all ages and levels. I am committed to my students’ success and aim to leave a lasting impression that (hopefully) far exceeds our physical time together! =)

I believe that students resonate with literature more when they can relate to the context. I have a knack for making connections between students and whatever literary landscape they are looking to conquer! Plus, I make it FUN! I start off with warm-up/icebreaker activities that will reflect the theme, genre, element, or other topic of the day. For example, if the lesson of the day involves setting, I would show photos of familiar places, or play a quick charades game for students to guess the places. Then I will have photos of a conflict, plot point, or specific event. Students will then mix and match the events with the places to create a narrative that makes sense and discover how setting plays a pivotal role in any and every piece of literature you read, write, or imagine!
