About Puja
Hi, I'm Puja - a software engineer, AI specialist, and educator based in Toronto.
I hold a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from a Canadian university, and I work full-time as a Full Stack Developer and AI Engineer, building real production systems used by businesses and government organizations. Before and during my Master's, I served as a Teaching Assistant for two years, supporting students through some of the toughest parts of their coursework - SQL, data analysis, statistics, and machine learning. I've also worked as a part-time Python instructor, helping students from complete beginners to those preparing for technical job interviews.
What I bring to tutoring is a genuine combination of two worlds: I know what it's like to sit in a classroom struggling with a concept, and I know what it's like to use that exact concept on the job to solve a real problem. That perspective shapes how I teach - I focus on clarity, practical examples, and making sure things actually make sense, not just memorized.
I'm patient by nature, organized in how I structure lessons, and genuinely enjoy watching someone go from "I don't get this at all" to "oh, that's actually not so bad." Whether you're a student trying to pass a course, a career-changer building new skills, or a professional looking to sharpen your technical abilities, I'd love to help you get there.

My teaching approach is built on one core idea: you learn best by doing, not by memorizing. I don't believe in long theory-heavy lectures that leave students more confused than when they started. Instead, I break concepts down into small, practical pieces and connect every idea to a real example - something you could actually build, analyze, or solve yourself.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what you already know and what you're struggling with, so we spend time where it actually matters. From there, we work through the concept together using simple examples first, then move to hands-on practice - writing code, working through a dataset, or solving problems step by step while I explain my thinking out loud. By the end of each session, you'll have something concrete: a working piece of code, a solved problem set, or a clearer understanding of a topic that felt impossible an hour earlier. I also give you small exercises to try on your own between lessons, with feedback on your attempts.
What sets me apart is the combination of where I've learned and where I've worked. I hold a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and spent two years as a Teaching Assistant supporting graduate students through challenging coursework in SQL, data analysis, and statistics. I've also worked as a part-time Python instructor, teaching students from complete beginners to those preparing for technical interviews. On top of that, I work full-time as a software engineer building real AI and data systems — so I can show you not just the "textbook" way to do something, but how it actually gets used in industry.
