About Katiuska

I am a professional graduated as a Master Engineer in Microbiology, and Advanced Doctorate Studies. I have extensive and consolidated experience of more than 25 years as a Teacher - Researcher at the undergraduate and postgraduate.

I have served as a Spanish and socio-emotional teacher of students from kindergarten to 5th grade, taking my role of academic planning, guided by the Florida standards with great responsibility, commitment, motivating my students within an integral education with values. These functions have been shared with the responsibility of being the academic coordinator of a college at the elementary level.

During my years of service to the university, I came to hold directive positions as School Director, Teaching Secretary and Dean in charge, exercising academic and administrative functions in the coordination, planning and monitoring of academic improvement plans adjusted to the guidelines and goals established by the institution. In the same way, I had under my responsibility the organization and management of human resources, coordination and evaluation of student, teaching, administrative and worker personnel.

Take part as Coordinator and / or Member of different commissions: Representative of the Professors before the Faculty Council; Member of the Commission in charge of the accreditation of our Agronomic Engineering career before the Educational MERCOSUR; Departmentalization Commission; Commission of Validation of the Agronomic Engineering career of the University of Zulia; Curriculum Commission; Liaison Commission - Academic Vice; Commission for Student Affairs and Procedures; Commission for Admission and Change of Dedication; Management commission; Community Services and Leadership Commission of the Research Network of the Academic Vice President of LUZ; Nucleus Extension Commission and LUZ Agreement Commission - Productive Sector, among others.

In my professional experience as a researcher - extension worker, I participated in the coordination and / or development of research - university extension of different projects and programs in the area of sustainable crop management, food technology and environment, some of them in alliances with the sector Productive of Venezuela, together with inter and multidisciplinary teams, achieving my accreditation for several years in the Program of Stimulus to Innovation and Research (PEII) of the Venezuelan State at different levels and with various recognitions for outstanding teaching work and high moral and civic conditions.

At the international level I have participated actively in the development of research in conjunction with the Technical University of Machala of Ecuador; the BIOMARC center of the University of La Guajira, the University of Cesar, the University of Córdoba and the Universidad del Atlántico in Colombia.

About the lesson

I am a dynamic, committed and updated teacher with interaction techniques and above all motivating my students, which I translate into the weekly content planning.

I consider learning to be an active process that implies responsibility, commitment and respect on both the student and teacher sides in order to share achievements and be empathetic.

I love that my students learn and know the why of things, that they do not stay with the information provided but that they are able to find information to go beyond the guide offered in classes, that is why I always look for readings, link activities that strengthens the knowledge taught in the classroom either in person or online.

Likewise for me, within my functions as a tutor teacher, I like to know how to learn with which group of students I will work, their academic history or status and the most important thing about the personal appearance of my students, which provide me with the immediate tools to solve if individual or group conflicts arise within the class. And to become a guiding instrument of the learning process, making them the most possibly independent people and acquire the strength and capacity for resolution and decision, obtaining feedback with my students in the teaching-learning process.

Every day my students and I learn in turn, with the experiences that my students bring to the classes or in the time that they need to express themselves. The important thing is that you feel happy when you attend and each time you enter a class you enjoy it and you achieve and advance your specific knowledge of the area taught
