About Elena
Hi! My name is Elena, and I am a future elementary teacher currently completing my Associate of Arts degree in the Future Teachers program at Douglas College. I will be continuing my studies at University of British Columbia this fall, working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
I’ve wanted to become a teacher since the second grade, and I genuinely enjoy working with children and helping them grow in confidence!
I have been recognized for my academic performance, earning a place on the Dean’s List twice and the Honor Roll once.
I am bilingual in English and Persian (Farsi), and I moved to Canada at a young age. I’m especially comfortable supporting students who may need extra help building confidence in English.
I am based in Coquitlam and available for local tutoring. I’m patient, reliable, and truly care about helping each student succeed! ️

My approach as a tutor is to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence! I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and focus on clear explanations and guided practice.
Before each lesson, I review the material the student needs help with and take time to understand what works best for their learning style.
At the start of each session, I go over what we aim to achieve by the end of the lesson. I break topics into small, manageable sections and follow each part with short check-ins or simple quizzes to make sure the student feels confident before moving on.
This approach helps students stay engaged, build confidence, and fully understand the material step by step.
What sets me apart is my passion for becoming an elementary school teacher and my experience working directly with students. Through my volunteer experience at Moody Elementary School, I have supported students with worksheets, graded assignments, and worked one-on-one with children who needed additional guidance.
My lessons are designed for elementary school students who need support in reading, writing, math, or general homework help.
