About Aine
Hi there! I'm Aine C., but you can call me 柯老师 (Ke Laoshi, or Teacher Ke). I'm a native English speaker who's been immersed in Chinese language & culture from a young age, and I speak Chinese fluently. My Autism & ADHD have led me to develop my own set of tried-and-true learning and teaching methods, and this is my way of passing on my love for Mandarin Chinese to other people like me. I'm earning a degree in Chinese Language with a minor in Linguistics, I've tutored a number of classmates & have experience teaching some younger family members as well as interested friends.

I teach Chinese for those of us who love languages but find a traditional learning environment restrictive or overwhelming. In my lessons, I provide a central anchor topic and then teach vocabulary & grammar that will help the learner to communicate fearlessly. At the very beginning, if the learner has absolutely no experience with Chinese, I break down the basics: Pinyin, the character-reading cheat codes of radicals & sound components, and basic pronunciation. If you're a young adult -- especially with ADHD and/or Autism -- looking to learn elementary Chinese or brush up on your skills for school, you're in good hands!
