About Luca

I am Luca, and I just LOVE Maths.
I am passionate about teaching and knowledge sharing in general, therefore teaching Maths just makes sense to me; I started doing it when I was an early teen-ager for my siblings, then did it for years throughout my high school and Uni studies, first for my family's acquaintances then for anyone, using positive word of mouth.

I am Berkshire based, having lived in the UK for 21+ years.
I have 1000s hrs of tutoring experience from GCSE level to University level (I privately tutored in Maths for several different faculties: Economy, Architecture etc).

I have an Electronic Engineering Uni degree; passed all Maths exams with maximum grades: Mathematical Analysis; Probability Calculus; Statistics etc.
I helped dozens of students from GCSE to A-Level, having lived in the UK for decades; I also helped University students (Economy, Architecture).
The results have always been excellent.

About the lesson

I tutor online in Maths for GCSE & A-Levels (including Statistics, Physics-Mechanics).

My experience taught me that: most struggling students claim to be “hopeless” in Maths or to just hate it.
The cause: having misunderstood key concepts years before, they skipped pages or exercises that “didn’t make sense” to them, hoping not get stung in the future; guess what? Those always come back to bite.
My approach: I identify gaps, clarify them with patience, real life analogies, examples; start building REAL knowledge and self-confidence, add concepts to other concepts to build a logical structure that just makes sense; students get satisfaction out of being able to join the dots.
With few weeks work many students will typically “not dislike Maths” anymore; in few months most even start liking it!
Maths makes sense and can be fun, if you study it the right way!
I use an online meeting platform with an interactive whiteboard, websites and apps to customise explanations, show simulations etc

I offer one free 1h lesson, to identify gaps and as a means for me and the student to assess each other.
I offer discounts for 2h+ long lessons or for lessons with 2+ students attending at the same time (those discounts add up).

Luca is easy to work with and very knowledgeable, his open mind approach made me feel at ease from day-1; he is keen to answer all sorts of Maths questions and doesn't mind being interrupted at all: lessons were never a boring one-way traffic but rather an interaction that really helped me understand the trickiest topics in A-Level Math.
