About Esmee
I have tutored GCSE students, primary school students, as well as students preparing for the 11 + exam, and so have a lot of experience and knowledge of where problems may arise. I have good knowledge of the new GCSE specification as my younger brother has recently taken his GCSE Maths.
I have a good understanding of exam-style questions, as well as the content that is covered by each syllabus and exam board. In my experience, all students learn in different ways and at different times. One of the key things that I help the students with is building confidence in Maths by encouraging enthusiasm and engaging students right from the start. Education has been heavily impacted this year due to Covid-19, so I would be more than happy to help with filling in any gaps of Maths knowledge.

Every student has different abilities and has different ways of learning that works best for them. Therefore, I believe that you have to be flexible in order to work on students’ individual goals.
Each session involves an explanation of the topic they have requested to learn, followed by some example questions and some questions we can work through together. It will then be the students’ turn to answer another question and explain to me how to do it. Once, the student understands the topic, I will make sure to briefly revisit the topic in the next session, to ensure it stays fresh in their mind. If the student is more looking for improving exam technique, we will work through past papers together and get used to exam-style questions.
