Hi, I’m Dmitri, an Economics with German student at the University of Birmingham with over two years of tutoring experience. I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths and a B in AS Maths, and I’ve helped more than 50 students improve their confidence and grades through other platforms.

Welcome! I'm excited to introduce myself to you. I enjoy enabling students struggling with GCSE Maths not only to understand key mathematical concepts, but also to enjoy the process. Maths can seem very complicated, with lots of rules and places where it's easy to make mistakes, which students often find frustrating. I am very patient and explain everything clearly, with worked examples, and plenty of guided practice. One of my favourite things is seeing the happiness and relief a student gets when they finally understand that a concept they have struggled with for so long is actually not just doable, but easy! Not only do I help students learn how to answer questions, but I also use real exam-style questions, so that by the time students get to the exam, they will be familiar with not just most of, but all the questions, and know how to do it well. With practice, a subject that millions of people struggle with can feel like a Sunday crossword, and I want to help other students reach this feeling. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which provides enough time to explain new material, work through examples together, and give students independent practice with feedback. Longer or shorter sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s needs and focus level. My lessons are designed for secondary school students preparing for their GCSE Maths exams, typically aged 14–16, though I also support younger students who want to build a solid foundation early, or older learners resitting their GCSEs.
