About Carmen
As a future educator, I take this job very seriously, and I want to see all students succeed. I have experience in the classroom, both through observing and working. I also have tutored using the Barton Reading system, which helped me gain a lot of knowledge and insight into phonics. I put my all into helping students grow into confident readers.

As a tutor, I believe in taking a play-based approach when it comes to learning. A typical lesson would involve a read-aloud, literacy games to keep students engaged and motivated. I also like to use manipulatives and whiteboards to help support visually. All lessons will be geared towards what specific needs, and I want to support them as much as possible. As someone who has experience in the classroom, I have the hands-on experience of working with kids of all different backgrounds and catering lessons towards their interests and needs. The lessons are for students in kindergarten-3rd grade.
