About Georgiana

I’ve always loved learning—but even more, I’ve loved helping others enjoy learning too. That’s what drew me to tutoring. Studying Psychology at Durham has deepened my understanding of how people think and learn differently, and tutoring gives me the opportunity to put that into practice in a meaningful, one-to-one setting. I started teaching in 2021 and quickly realised how fulfilling it is to watch a student go from confused or frustrated to confident and engaged. I find real joy in helping students unlock their potential, whether that’s finally understanding a tricky concept, improving their grades, or just feeling more in control of their studies. Tutoring is more than just helping someone pass a test—it’s about building confidence, developing independent learning skills, and making education feel empowering. That’s what motivates me every time I teach.

Hi, I’m Georgiana, a Psychology undergraduate at Durham University with years of tutoring experience and a passion for helping students thrive academically and confidently. My Approach to Tutoring I believe every student learns differently, so my teaching is flexible and tailored to the individual. I focus on building understanding through clear explanations, interactive dialogue, and practical examples. I use questioning techniques to encourage critical thinking, and I’m patient in exploring different ways to explain a concept until it clicks. I aim to make learning feel motivating rather than stressful—building both knowledge and confidence along the way. Methodology & Lesson Structure Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though this can be adapted depending on your needs. I start with a quick check-in and review of previous material. We then focus on the key topic(s) of the session with a mix of explanation, practice questions, and real-world applications. Each session ends with a short recap and next steps. I can also provide revision schedules, study tips, or feedback on schoolwork if needed. Experience & Qualifications I’ve been tutoring since 2021, working with both children and teenagers. My background includes A* grades in Psychology and History and an A in Biology at A-Level, as well as a high 2:1 from Durham University in BSc Psychology. My work as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab has strengthened my analytical and communication skills. I’ve also mentored younger students and received formal training in well-being support and active listening—so I’m especially good with students who may be anxious or struggling with confidence. Who I Teach GCSE and A-Level students (Psychology, History, Biology, and general study skills) KS3 and younger students who need support with confidence, comprehension, and study habits Neurodivergent or SEN students—I have experience working with children with autism and other developmental disorders, and adapt my style accordingly If you're looking for a friendly, focused, and adaptable tutor who takes the time to understand how you or your child learns best, feel free to get in touch
