About Lesley

Hello, I’m Lesley. I graduated from Performance Preparation Academy in 2018 and have since worked professionally across stage and screen.

Alongside my industry work, I run my own theatre school in Titchfield, Fareham, where I’ve been teaching young performers

. Supporting students through their creative journey is something I care deeply about. As a teenager, it was my dream to attend drama school and although I achieved it, the process was far from straightforward. I received many rejections before my “yes”, and I navigated auditions without a mentor to guide me on material choice, presentation, or self-tape technique.

That experience shaped the way I now teach. I ensure my students are not only creatively prepared, but to also have confidence in their own ability.

From selecting strong, suitable material to producing professional self-tapes using high-quality backdrop and camera equipment, I guide students through the process step by step so they feel confident, capable, and ready.

My private students have gone on to receive recalls and offers from leading institutions including Guildford School of Acting, Rose Bruford College and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Whether you’re working towards LAMDA grades, GCSE or A-Level performance exams, drama school auditions, or simply looking to build confidence in public speaking, I provide structured, supportive coaching tailored to your goals. I understand how vulnerable performance can feel and my aim is always to create a focused, encouraging environment where students can grow in both skill and self-belief.

About the lesson

Lessons are typically one hour and are carefully tailored to each student’s goals and experience level. I specialise in supporting teens and young adults with:

• London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Acting Grades 1–8 • GCSE & A-Level Drama performance preparation
• Drama school audition preparation
• Self-tape technique and screen acting
• Monologue coaching
• Acting through song

Sessions are structured yet supportive. We begin by selecting material suited to the student’s strengths and casting type, before developing:
• Text analysis and character work
• Emotional truth and connection
• Vocal clarity and physical presence
• Confidence and audition technique

For students preparing auditions or exams, we workshop and refine pieces over several weeks. I am able to professionally record self-tapes using a backdrop and camera equipment, ensuring students submit high-quality, industry-standard material.

Lessons can take place:
• Online
• Or in the comfort of your own home

For home visits, I travel within Fareham and surrounding areas, including Whiteley, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester. If you would like to discuss your goals or check availability, please feel free to get in touch.
