About Joshua
I am a flexible college student studying hospitality and hotel/ business management. My subjects in high school included algebraic maths, maths literacy, consumer studies, computer application science and visual art. I graduated within the top 1% of the country's students for maths literacy, and I prioritised mathematical understanding throughout my high school career. My passion for teaching is a result of wanting to be the person that I never had the opportunity to learn under: a personalised mentor who understands and accommodates different learning types. As a high school graduate from the COVID era, my willingness to teach is also a result of an attempt to fill in the gap caused by any stagnated learning resulting from lockdown. I want to be able to pass on the knowledge that was awarded to me through years of dedication, and I want to ensure that private teaching and alternative methods are given more of a platform in South Africa.

I am adaptable, compassionate and patient in my approach to students of various learning methods, and I aim to be someone who uses both conventional and personalised methods to ensure the best for students in need. I believe questions and mistakes are the two most valuable tools for learners in the current age, and as such, will ensure that they use these tools to become the best they can be. Lessons are able to be tailored to different moods and states of mind, be it eager, unsure, hesitant or hungry for more. I am able to teach in English.
