About Orlando
Is the art history course you signed up for this term more challenging than you expected? Are you having difficulties understanding the material, composing successful essays, and presentations, or studying for exams?
With my 18 years of experience teaching at high school, college, and graduate school levels in the US and abroad, I can help you navigate the course creating a structure in the student's practice of reading for the subject, extracting the most important ideas, and organizing a calendar to turn in special assignments, prepare for exams and presentations.
As a consequence of my curatorial experience working in museums since 1998, my tutoring methodology includes visits to museum exhibitions which I consider powerful multisensory tools to facilitate learning and more importantly, the multifaceted understanding of a work of Art from various sociological perspectives.

My lessons consist of in-class informal discussions about what is "Art."?, and what is its role in our daily lives. Simultaneously, we will get familiarized with art and art historical terminology, diverse artistic techniques, media, styles, periods, artists, movements and chronology. The objective is to get familiarized with the most important artistic creations and their historical stylistic evolution and at the same time expand your visual literacy from cave painting to NFTs.
