About Nilanjana

I am a DPhil student studying History of Medicine at the University of Oxford with the Wellcome Trust Scholarship. I have done my undergrad and post grad from Kolkata, India before moving to Oxford to do a DPhil. I have been a tutor at Oxford, and taken seminar classes at KCL.

I have always been passionate about the subject, which is why I decided to pursue higher studies at Oxford. I love teaching and interacting, which is why I am interested in teaching and helping students do well! Asking questions is fundamental, and this is what I try to instil in all students to mould them into good historians. I always welcome questions, am approachable, and I am confident that my style of teaching will appeal to students to motivate them to love History!

About the lesson

I follow an interactive approach to tutoring. I usually ask questions on the topic I am teaching to help students get to the answers instead of just answering the questions myself. My approach is analytical and I aim to make my lessons as interesting as possible with quizzes, presentations and short courseworks. My classes are anywhere between 45 min-1 hour.

I teach students from 15 years to undergraduate levels.
