About Rafael
My roots are Hispanic, and I grew up in a bilingual household. Both English and Spanish are my native languages and have been speaking both for over 50 years. Military service with the Marines gave my language skills a purpose, and for the past 25 plus years I've had the privilege of working as a court and medical interpreter, and as a document translator, helping those who cannot help themselves.

My approach is oriented towards helping you reduce your accent, when speaking Spanish. If you are looking to learn Spanish from zero, I am not your tutor for that. Students that come to me, are Spanish language students or speakers seeking to sound more authentic in their Spanish pronunciation
My approach is based on topic conversations, which will be carried out in Spanish; with emphasis on corrective phonetic exercises as needed. The conversations are geared towards assessing your Spanish-speaking abilities, paired with your pronunciation, using words of different levels of difficulty. This individual assessment will be the base for personalized exercises to seek pronunciation improvement; thus making you sound more authentic when speaking Spanish.

Additional pricing details:
The hourly rate for lessons online (webcam), or at your location will be the same ($30/hour).
The difference between the two will be the mileage fee incurred to receive the lessons at your location. This fee is set at 35 cents/mile ($0.35/mile) round trip.
