About Natalie

I am currently working at a school in Leicestershire, teaching both GCSE English Language and Literature, A-level English Language and A-level Media Studies. I teach students from 11-18 years of age and have experience of teaching the AQA, OCR and Eduqas exam boards to students, as well as working as a professional examiner for AQA.
I have always had an affinity with looking after or supporting children in their progress and growth, and I always knew that I would work in education. Both of my parents are also teachers, so I guess teaching is in the genes.
I studied at De Montfort University in 2012 and graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Drama Studies. I then completed my PGCE in English at Leicester University, finishing with a Distinction.

About the lesson

Hello! I'm a full-time Secondary English and Media Studies teacher in Leicestershire and I'm looking at tutoring in my spare time to share my knowledge and passion of English.

I'm hoping that I can be of some assistance to other students in Leicester (or further afield) that may find particular areas of English difficult or inaccessible.

My approach to tutoring is simple: the student develops an understanding of English through practising key skills which are needed in the exam. I usually like to get the student to complete a brief set of tasks beforehand; this helps me to be able to identify key strengths and areas of improvement for the student.
