About Thanh

My name is Thanh Vu (nickname: Blue) from Vietnam. I obtained my Master in Education in Taiwan.

I have been fortunate in having immersed in the multicultural environment and getting to know friends from varying cultures, ethnicities and social backgrounds. Along these diverse cultural experiences, I came to realization how valuable it is to learn different languages. It is the magic that miraculously connects people from distinctive cultures and fascinatingly draws out their understanding and interest. Coming across such intrinsic motivation, since then I have been working relentlessly to improve my language learning and teaching skills. I am fluently in English, as it is the language of instruction in my study. In addition, I am also proud that I have a keen ability to communicate smoothly in standard Chinese. Besides, recently I just have started to pick up some Spanish. Being well-equipped with the process of learning brand-new language and starting from scratch, I am the right person to provide insightful and evidence-based advice and instructions to any novice language learners. It is my great pleasure to share some tips that could ease your life when learning a foreign language!

About the lesson

During more than 3 years in Taiwan, I have been teaching Vietnamese for Taiwanese students. I also worked as a teaching assistant in a local English center. I am a positive, friendly and patient teacher who deeply understands the learning struggles student might face. At the same time, I also understand how engaging and rewarding it can be if the learning environment is fun and interesting. My teaching philosophy premises on the notion that there is not perfect blueprint when it comes to individual ways of learning. Therefore, I am highly aware of students needs and very flexible to adjust to their learning pace and preferences.

Regarding my teaching style, the initial steps might involve generation of mutual understanding and learning companion. I would love to know about you, your learning style, personality, interests. Then I will try my best to make sure that the learning activities and contents relates to you personally in a practical manner. I strongly believe that your learning journey will be fulfilled with meaningful learning experience and long-lasting knowledge construction. I would be so happy to be your teacher.
