About Danniella

I have been teaching in schools in London for nine years now, as well as tutoring privately, and have a wealth of experience with students from all walks of life. I aspire to remain professional but approachable at all times.

I recently attained excellent exam results from my two Year 11 classes of the academic year 2021-22: as the only teacher of the weakest sets in the cohort, most of whom were predicted grade 4s, a large number of my students were able to achieve a 5 or above. My most recent tutee, who had to retake her GCSE English Language exam, was able to raise her grade from a 3 to a 5 after only a month of tuition.

I have a firm belief that all students, irrespective of predicted grades, can be taught and fostered into excellence by a teacher who simply cares enough.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated secondary English teacher with nine years of experience teaching students from Years 7 to 13. I have worked within both the independent and state sectors. Most recently, I have been Second-in-Charge of the English Department as well as the Literacy Leader for the whole school. Within these roles I have demonstrated strong leadership, organisational and planning skills. As a first-class graduate from Russell Group universities, I am equipped with a wealth of subject knowledge about and passion for literature that I am eager to pass on to young people. I am committed to making English a subject that students not only learn at school, but that enriches and improves their lives outside of it.

My approach to teaching is down to earth but focused, as I aim to make the study of language and literature as relatable and accessible as possible. A typical online lesson for secondary students will last for 60 minutes, using a variety of media and activities to ensure students remain engaged. I offer in-person lessons in the South East London area also.
