About Sothembela
My name is Sothembela Qawu, and I am passionate about working with young learners. I hold a Matric certificate and an N6 in Financial Management, and I am currently studying towards my Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase. I have 3 years of experience as a Teacher Assistant, where I supported learners in the classroom with reading, writing, and mathematics. I also gained experience in guiding learners who needed extra support to build confidence and improve their performance. The reason I am interested in teaching is because I enjoy helping children discover their potential. I believe every learner can succeed with the right support, patience, and encouragement. Teaching allows me to make a positive difference in learners’ lives, and that motivates me every day.

My lessons are designed to be learner-friendly, patient, and interactive. I focus on helping Foundation Phase learners (Grade R–3) build strong skills in Mathematics, English, reading, and writing.
I believe that every child learns at their own pace, so I adjust my teaching style to suit each learner’s needs. I use practical examples, games, and step-by-step explanations to make lessons fun and easy to understand.
Whether it’s helping with homework, improving reading skills, or strengthening numeracy, my goal is to ensure that learners gain confidence and enjoy learning.
I also encourage open communication with parents, so we can work together to support the learner’s progress.
