About Oksana

I have a Master's degree in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and French from Middlebury College. As an international student in my field, I learned quickly that my success would depend on an ability to clearly communicate my ideas. I realized this is true in all walks of life. Seeing how important English mastery is, I found a passion for teaching English language to help other achieve their personal and professional goals.

I have been teaching academic writing to native-speaking and ESL students at college and high school level for the last three years. I can help explain the intricacies of academic communication and help you compose polished and logical work. I would also be glad to help you study for English proficiency exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or internal graduate school English speaking tests.

About the lesson

During our first tutoring session, we will work on determining your level of English and designing an individualized plan of instruction to meet your needs. If time permits, we will also begin improving your English skills. My lesson plans are grouped around a series of broad topics, which will allow you to learn new vocabulary as well as to practice reading, writing, and speaking. I like to incorporate a broad range of media to reflect a variety of real-life situations in English-speaking countries. You should expect to watch and respond to short videos, texts, dialogues, as well as practice speaking and writing.
