About Joseph
My name is Joseph and I am a current dental student at Stony Brook University with ambitions of becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and I currently tutor science along with pursuing my DDS degree. My qualifications for teaching involve 4+ years of science tutoring, master's degree in biological sciences, and serving as a teaching assistant throughout my graduate and undergraduate studies. I find it very satisfying to be able to break down difficult concepts into graspable information for my students. Being that I am part of the healthcare field, I am passionate about being a mentor and server of my community. This translates well over to my passion for teaching, where I am eager to help my students succeed and provide them with the utmost knowldege of their subjects.

I heavily enjoy the courses I tutor, and I find it incredibly satisfying to be able to break down difficult concepts into graspable information for my students. My tutoring sessions are conveniently held over ZOOM using my ipad and apple pencil, making the session very collaborative between myself and the student. I make sure to keep my students engaged by constantly asking them questions and making sure they understand me every step of the way. I always assess a student's knowledge of a subject, and provide him or her with supplemental resources and practice questions. I am also available to answer my student's questions and concerns outside of tutoring appointments on my own time. My lessons are for any students currently taking biology, chemistry, or other science courses that are looking to improve their grades. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact me!
