About Orlanda

I aim to create a supportive, structured, and professional learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and engaging with challenging topics. With over three years of tutoring experience and a strong academic background, I understand both subject content and the demands of exams. I plan lessons to ensure each session is well-organised, focused, and tailored to the student's individual needs. I take my role as a tutor seriously by preparing thoroughly, providing clear explanations, and offering constructive feedback, with the goal of helping students build confidence, improve consistently, and feel well prepared for assessments. In Mathematics, I focus on working through questions so that my students can understand where they went wrong. So that they can better catch those mistakes in the future.

About the lesson

My teaching style is highly personalised, with a strong emphasis on ensuring students develop a solid foundational understanding before progressing to more complex topics. I tailor lessons to each student’s needs by identifying areas of weakness and adapting my teaching accordingly. Sessions typically involve a mix of working through challenging topics, targeted exam-style questions, quizzes, and past paper practice to build both understanding and exam confidence. Lessons are typically at least one hour long. For sessions longer than an hour and a half, I include a 10-minute break, as maintaining focus and concentration is essential for effective learning. My academic qualifications in mathematics include an A in AS Level Mathematics and GCSE grades of 9. I am currently studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey. In addition, I have over three years of experience tutoring students across a range of subjects and levels. When it comes to Mathematics, I tutor for all exam boards at GCSE and AS Level, as well as Key Stage 3 Mathematics.

My rate covers not only my teaching but also provides access to any exam or study materials I distribute in lessons. Furthermore, for every 2 hours I tutor your child, I will mark one past paper or essay that they complete. This paper will be assigned weekly or every fortnight, depending on the frequency of our sessions.
