About Jennifer
My vision is simple and strong: there is no age limit to learning how to read. Every person, no matter where they are in life, deserves the opportunity to become a fluent reader and to understand the world around them. Reading isn't just a skill—it's the foundation of living. Whether you want to drive a car, cook a meal, go shopping, or simply navigate life confidently, reading is at the center of it all. I tell every student I work with: you have to know how to read. Reading opens doors, expands minds, and builds independence. I've always been a passionate advocate for books and literacy, thanks to my mother—an avid reader who passed that love on to me. Magazines, books, articles—if it has words, I'm reading it. I read every day, own thousands of books, and truly believe that reading is the way to the world. The more you read, the more you learn—and there is always something new to learn. As a mother, a paraprofessional, and a lifelong learner myself, I carry this vision into every lesson I teach. My goal is to help students not just learn to read, but to love reading, because when you love to read, you can learn anything.

For me, teaching is not just a job—it’s a lifestyle. I’m also a proud mother of a five-year-old son who is entering first grade, and we are a reading household through and through. From letter recognition to fluent reading, every moment is an opportunity to grow as readers. I'm an avid book lover and lifelong learner—I read every day, own thousands of books, and have been a dedicated Kindle Fire subscriber for years. The library is like a second home to me.
My approach to teaching is simple: learning should feel like play, discovery, and joy. I design each lesson not as a task but as an adventure—something my students can enjoy, connect with, and carry with them. Whether it’s building letter-sound connections or boosting reading fluency, my goal is always to help children fall in love with reading the same way I have.
