About Riya
I'm Riya, a B.Com (Hons.) and Company Secretary (CS) student with a genuine interest in languages and learning. When I was young I always used to roleplay a teacher, funny how I really am a teacher while being a student myself.
I enjoy working with children with creative mind and helping them become more confident in english.
I believe learning a language should be an enjoyable and comfortable experience. As a teacher, I try to understand each student's individual pace and learning style rather than expecting everyone to learn in the same way.
My classes are friendly, patient, and structured, with enough discipline to keep students focused. I encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes without fear, and gradually develop the confidence to find and correct their own mistakes.
I teach English to school students, particularly Classes 1–5, in Barasat and Kolkata.

I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable, respected, and free to make mistakes. My classes are friendly and supportive, where students do not have to worry about being judged for getting something wrong. Instead, I encourage them to think independently, identify their mistakes, and work towards correcting them themselves.
My teaching style is gentle, patient, and polite, while maintaining discipline. I believe discipline is important for consistent learning, but it should not come at the cost of making a student feel pressured or uncomfortable.
Rather than relying only on memorization or shortcuts, I focus on developing a strong understanding of the concept. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and use their own creativity while learning.
My classes are primarily intended for school students, particularly those in Classes 1–5. I adapt my teaching according to the student's age, level of understanding, and individual learning pace.
As a teacher, my strengths are patience, understanding, attentiveness, and genuine care for my students. My aim is not simply to help students complete their syllabus, but to create a learning environment where they gradually become more confident and independent learners.
