About Robert
I enjoy watching others drive toward their goals and ambitions as it inspires me to continue to pursue my own. As a tutor, I firmly believe that your success is my success. This means I will give you my full attention and support to help you archive your goals.
Throughout my University journey, I have maintained a consistently high standard and disciplined effort. My first essay at undergraduate level was published in Psychtalk (run by the BPS) magazine and in the following years, my academic skills have improved significantly.
As a mature student with a busy family and work life, I have had to become skilled in understanding exactly what is required in my course to optimise time and be successful. I am confident that helping my students understand what is expected of them, will help them lower their stress levels and focus on what is important.
My aim for each student is to provide them with clarity and direction, which in my experience is invaluable when the pressure of deadlines is on.

The primary teaching approach for my students is that they are able to fit their project in line with the intended learning outcomes of their course. Additionally, my personal strengths are in critical evaluation and attention to structure. I will encourage my students to bring forth their own ideas and fit them into an academic framework using supporting evidence.
A typical lesson could range 60 - 90 minutes, depending on requirements. My current experience is 3rd year undergraduate with a consistently high level of attainment.
My lessons will be aimed primarily at 1st year undergraduate students. As a mature student with a busy family and work life, my experience may be particularly beneficial to mature students who struggle to balance study with other responsibilities.
