About Sarah
I am a current teacher. I love teaching because of being able to help students individually. I enjoy seeing pupils develop a real interest in the sciences and hopefully be inspired to go on and study a Science related career! I have been tutoring for almost 5 years now and really enjoy being able to teach and tutor.

Hi there! I am currently teaching Biology and Chemistry. I have completed my PGCE, and have taught at a variety of schools.
I have been tutoring since March of 2017, and have thoroughly enjoyed seeing my pupils progress and develop their understanding! I have been teaching the new specifications as well for Chemistry AQA and OCR, Biology OCR and AQA and various GCSE specifications.
Before a tutorial takes place, I gather various bits of information about the course your child is undertaking, such as exam board, their predicted grades and what they would like to achieve. I also ask which areas they would like to be focus areas, whether this be specific subject knowledge or exam technique. From here, various exercises can be tailored to help their goals be achieved. The primary tutorial is a tutorial in which to help find the style that works best. This involves running through the specification, highlighting target areas and checking understanding through a variety of general questions. After this, each session consists of various examples to work through, and most likely work will be given to be done inbetween sessions to test understanding and be run through at the next session. When I was revising for exams, I found repetition and example questions to be the most helpful when learning. Unfortunately, this can become boring, so I hope by creating a variety of problems, the student will be engaged and also be prepared for any exam situation. Towards the end, mock papers may be given in order to ensure understanding and really focus on priority areas for the best results.
