What sets me apart is that I understand how to craft a successful application without relying on perfect test scores or extraordinary extracurriculars. I was admitted test-optional to multiple top schools, including UPenn, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Amherst, Williams, Barnard, UVA, University of Michigan, and UNC, after attending a competitive NYC high school. As a current student at the University of Pennsylvania and Congressional summer intern, I also know how important strong writing is beyond college admissions, especially for internships and professional opportunities. I bring three years of experience helping students in my family and neighborhood circles improve their essays in a way that feels polished, strategic, and true to them.
My approach is collaborative, detailed, and student-centered. I focus on helping students strengthen their writing while keeping their authentic voice intact. Rather than simply rewriting essays for them, I explain why certain edits work, how to improve structure, clarity, flow, and word choice, and how to make their experiences sound compelling without exaggerating. I also help students identify the strongest angle for their essay, avoid clichés, and make every sentence serve a purpose.
A typical session begins with a quick conversation about the student’s goals, background, target schools, and what they want the essay or application section to communicate. Then, we review the draft together, focusing first on the bigger-picture elements: topic, structure, storytelling, clarity, and overall impact. After that, we move into line edits for grammar, concision, flow, and tone. By the end of the session, the student will have specific edits, clear next steps, and a stronger understanding of how to improve the piece independently.
My essay review services are best for high school students applying to college, especially students working on Common App personal statements, supplemental essays, and activities/extracurricular descriptions. I can help students at any stage of the writing process, whether they are brainstorming topics, revising a rough draft, polishing a near-final essay, or trying to make their activities section more concise and impressive. My services are especially useful for students applying to selective colleges who want their writing to feel clear, memorable, and authentic.
