About Leila
I am half British, half Bosnian and I grew up in Kenya. I currently study international relations at King's College London and I love learning about humanities specifically. I was a leader of Model United Nations in High School extensively reviewing current affairs. An important interest of mine is also sociology and how our social interactions shape societies as a whole and therefore how states interact with each other, for example I recently wrote a piece on how polarisation of debate has impacted political discourse. I am very interested in social sciences and I think that helps with teaching as I will do the research to understand what topics come up in lessons and I am well versed in broader topics as well.

As a university student I have the advantage of knowing what specifically has confused me in the past, it is recent enough for me to remember the tools I used for important skills in social science like analysis, structure in arguments, and drawing conclusions. Typical length of a lesson would be 30-60 minutes depending on the student and their needs. I specialise in secondary school social sciences like ages 14-16 and IB courses like Global Politics and English. I can also make lessons for middle school ages 10-14 where the foundations of writing are learnt. For example the importance of structuring an argument with a claim, evidence, explanation and link. What sets me apart is that I have been exposed to many different types of learning growing up internationally and so I do believe in patience and practice when it comes to learning humanities properly.
